Directly connected to sounder and positioning system, the PBG Module allows
TIMEZERO to collect and record in real time depth information transmitted,
enabling you to create and update your own bathymetric database with pinpoint
accuracy. With a single click, TZ PBG Module will activate to give you
breathtaking real-time 2D and 3D images of the seabed. It’s as easy as that.
*PBG: Personal Bathymetry Generation
Recreate the seafloor with stunningly detailed realism
TIMEZERO Bathy Recorder is a built-in feature of the software SportFishing
and Catch.
Connect any NMEA0183 or NMEA2000 depth transducer to your computer, and the
Bathy Recorder will use the received depth and position data to generate your
own new bathymetric database with precision in real-time. Switch seamlessly
from 2D to 3D view so you can clearly identify each contour of the seabed.
Features
- Record your favorite fishing spots using data from your integrated
sounder or transducer
- Create custom contours
- Customize sea floor charts
- Incorporate data into your 3D charts
- Easily import/export compatible bathymetric data
Nobeltec, pioneers of Bathy Recording
The Bathy Recorder Plus Pack was available as an optional add-on in
previous Nobeltec legacy software products, VNS and Admiral.
Our software developers have used their extensive knowledge and experience to
create the next generation of bathy recording, leading to the development of
the TIMEZERO Bathy Recorder feature. When the Bathy Recorder tool is
activated, the 3D database is updated in real time, which means that there is
no need to wait or to refresh your screen. The accuracy has also been improved
- depth points are recorded at their exact location, without any limit to the
number of points that the software can record! This means that the more the
fisherman tracks over and back in a certain fishing ground, the more accurate
the 3D data will become.
TIMEZERO software contains an Import function that allows users to import
their bathy data that was recorded in VNS or Admiral, as well as a range of
other software products.
Advanced Bathy Recorder Filters
The TIMEZERO Bathy Recorder generates and updates the 3D database in
real-time, so it is very important to filter any inaccurate data that is
recorded, to avoid adding it to the database. TIMEZERO offers multiple
advanced Bathy Recorder filters in order to produce an extremely precise 3D
database.
Tidal Height correction: automatically corrects the depth offset related to
the current tidal height (using integrated tide data from Nobeltec software,
or from a Pitch and Roll GPS, if one is available). The Furuno Quality Filter:
allows TIMEZERO to automatically reject depth data that is considered invalid
by the Furuno sounder.
Depth filter: allows you to set up minimum and maximum acceptable depth values
between which the Bathy Recorder will register.
Speed Filter: temporarily stops the depth sounder information from being
recording when a certain speed is exceeded.
Consistency with Previous Recorded Data: This filter makes a comparison
between the current depth value returned by the sounder and the last recorded
value for the same position. If there is too much discrepancy between the two
points, the new one will be rejected.
Consistency with 3D Database: This filter compares the depth value sent by the
sounder against the depth recorded in the 3D database Repeated data rejection:
this filter automatically rejects repeated, fixed depth values. This can occur
due to a sounder problem or a loss of signal.
Note: As soon as a depth value is rejected (i.e. not saved to the 3D
database), a message is displayed in the notification bar indicating the
reason for the rejection and this information is recorded in the alarm log.
Bathy Recorder Delete Tool
A “Delete PBG” tool allows you to remove a bad depth point by drawing a
free-hand selection area around the point(s) you want to remove. Note that the
Undo/Redo function allows you to undo any bathy point that you may have
accidentally deleted.
Bottom discrimination (BBDS1 only)
When connected to the Furuno BBDS1 Black Box Ethernet sounder, the Bathy
Recorder feature allows TIMEZERO to save seabed information in addition to the
depth. Nobeltec can then display Bottom Classification as well as bottom
hardness using a color scale on the chart.
Data rendering optimization
TIMEZERO provides 3 different 3D databases:
- 3D data from the chart (3D Chart database)
- 3D data from file import (Static database)
- 3D data from the Bathy Recorder database (Bathy Recorder database)
Each of these 3D databases can be activated or disabled independently. When
several are selected, Nobeltec merges them in real time on screen and
automatically selecting the most accurate data available in the area. Various
settings let you adjust the display depending on the quality of data in the
database.
Terrain Shading: allows you to apply more or less shadowing on the depth
shading chart to increase or decrease the 3D effect display.
Terrain Sharpness: allows you to “smooth” or “sharpen” the 3D data.
The Bathy Recorder Brush Width: allows you to change the "width” of a Bathy
Recorder track.
The TIMEZERO Bathy Recorder feature lets the user create superior databases in
less time. By having such a detailed and precise 3D bathymetric chart of your
fishing grounds allows the fishermen to fish more effectively, even in areas
he wouldn’t normally be confident enough to venture into (close to rocks for
example). The Bathy Recorder feature also makes it easier to discover new
fishing spots.
The TIMEZERO Bathy Recorder feature is truly a smart business choice, and will
without doubt, increase fishermen’s productivity and offer a significant
return on investment.
