Garmin's AIS 300 receiver offers an affordable solution for receiving AIS
target data, providing mariners with an improved situational awareness and
better collision avoidance. This affordable NMEA 2000®-compatible AIS receiver
alerts you to potential collisions with other AIS-equipped vessels in your
vicinity. When used with a Garmin chartplotter and VHF, vessel information is
quickly accessible, and a VHF DSC call to the threat can be made with minimal
key presses.
Know Your Surroundings
This black box AIS receiver integrates with a Garmin chartplotter and VHF
radio to enable automatic AIS target calling and to display AIS target data
directly on the chartplotter screen. To ensure no loss of information,
dual-channel monitoring allows for independent monitoring of both AIS channels.
The AIS 300 receiver also includes Class A and Class B reception which allows
decoding of AIS traffic from both commercial and leisure vessels. Additionally,
the AIS 300 can further aid in collision avoidance by integrating a Closest
Point of Approach (CPA) alarm when connected to a compatible chartplotter.
Mariners can rest easy knowing they have visibility of all the boat traffic
around them.
Installation Made Easy
The AIS 300 is NMEA 2000 certified and is easily added to your existing NMEA
2000 network. It is compatible with both 12-volt and 24-volt boat systems.
Additionally, the AIS 300 offers a NMEA 0183 output with selectable speed. A
built-in passive splitter enables one VHF antenna to serve both the AIS 300 and
any VHF radio, making for easy installation. Once installed, users can view all
AIS data on their chartplotters so they'll have all the information they need at
their fingertips.
Garmin VHF 300 AIS Radio
The Garmin VHF 300 AIS marine receiver combines radio communication and 1 or
25 W of transmit power with multi-station support to give you the flexibility
and convenience you need to safely navigate and communicate on the open waters.
The VHF 300 AIS comes standard with a two-way hailer system and also is NMEA
0183 and NMEA 2000® compliant to offer greater onboard functionality. In
addition, the VHF 300 AIS takes advantage of Automatic Identification System
technology to help you identify and avoid other large vessels at sea.
Communicate with Confidence
The VHF 300 AIS is equipped with a two-way 30 W hailer system for
communication with other boats or deckhands. In addition, the VHF 300 AIS has a
patent-pending voicemail feature that lets you pre-record a 15 second message
and deliver the message to any Digital Selective Calling radio. You’ll also have
the ability to replay the last 90 seconds of any incoming voice transmission at
the touch of a button.
Identify Your Surroundings
With the VHF 300 AIS, you’ll get detailed data on your surroundings,
regardless of visibility. You’ll have ship identification information, position,
course and speed for vessels equipped with AIS within range. The VHF 300 AIS
also receives both Class A and Class B signals at the same time to ensure no
